BC Capitals LLC — Wyoming, USA

Quantitative & Proprietary Equity Trading

We trade our own capital across U.S. equities and options, combining systematic screening with disciplined discretionary execution. No outside investors. No client assets under management — just our capital, our research, and our risk.

About us

BC Capitals LLC — short for Blank Check Capitals, the firm's original name before it was shortened for registration purposes — is a privately held proprietary trading firm trading U.S. equities and equity options through a mix of quantitative and discretionary strategies. We trade our own balance sheet — there is no outside capital, no advisory relationship, and no public offering.

Our work spans systematic market screening, quantitative signal research, options strategy design, and day-to-day discretionary execution. A dedicated trading-operations and research team, based in Chennai, India, supports the desk across the U.S. trading session — running screens, monitoring positions, and preparing analysis ahead of and during market hours.

The firm is founded and run by Saran Raj, a Chennai-based investor/trader active across U.S. and Indian equity markets.

Strategy & markets

A brief, non-exhaustive view of how the desk operates. We don't publish specific signals, models, or entry/exit rules.

Market coverage

U.S.-listed equities and options across large- and mid-cap names, with a working universe centered on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100.

Quantitative research & technology

Signal generation and backtesting sit at the core of the process, built on in-house Python tools for screening, pattern detection, and options analytics, with execution routed through Interactive Brokers and real-time alerting on flagged setups.

Trading style

A blend of systematic screening and discretionary judgment, expressed through short-duration trades and options income strategies — including the wheel, covered calls, and defined-risk spreads — under set risk limits per trade and per day.

Time horizon

Positions range from intraday and swing trades to longer-term equity holdings, sized and managed according to the thesis and time frame behind each one.

How we operate

The discipline behind the desk, in short.

Capital

Ours only — no outside investors, no client capital, no outside pressure on our decisions.

Position sizing

Capped per trade as a fixed share of capital, sized to the setup rather than conviction.

Loss limits

A preset daily drawdown limit ends trading for the day — no exceptions.

Trade review

Every position is logged and reviewed afterward, win or lose.

The day-to-day

A typical day is fast-paced and revolves around the market clock. You'll actively monitor price action, assist with high-precision trade execution, and perform post-trade reconciliations — work that demands rapid decision-making and total accuracy during periods of high volatility.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist senior traders in the seamless execution of orders across asset classes, adhering to risk parameters
  • Monitor real-time market trends, news catalysts, and volume profiles, and relay timely updates to the desk
  • Use AI tools (such as Gemini and Claude) to draft prompts for sentiment analysis, earnings-call summarization, and rapid data synthesis
  • Maintain meticulous records of trades, open positions, and margin requirements for real-time portfolio clarity
  • Learn and back-test strategies, eventually contributing data-driven insights to refine the team's approach
  • Keep all trading activity compliant with internal protocols and regulatory standards

Required qualifications & skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong conceptual grasp of financial markets, technical analysis, and equity/derivative mechanics
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted analysis — using tools like Gemini or Claude to speed up research workflows
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable in data-heavy environments
  • Proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet modeling; familiarity with trading terminals is a strong plus
  • Composure under pressure and a near-zero-error mindset for trade entry and recordkeeping
  • Strong attention to detail across market monitoring and reporting

What's in it for you

  • Direct access to senior traders who'll guide your professional and technical growth
  • Hands-on experience across diverse asset classes and global market dynamics
  • A clear path for development in a meritocratic environment
  • A competitive salary and benefits package in a high-energy, collaborative culture
